High Performance with High Portability
Combining high performance with high portability, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III Silver mirrorless camera is as impressive as it is accessible. As much as 55% smaller and 64% lighter* than competing full frame systems, this powerful micro four-thirds model is perfect for travel and long handheld shoots. The same 20MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic VIII image processor from the professional OM-D E-M1 Mark II deliver stunning image quality with fine detail, rich tones, and minimal noise even at high ISO settings.

Elegant Yet Robust Design
Along with its predecessor’s stylish silver and black retro design, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 III flaunts a newly enhanced grip and dials. It also benefits from build features of the pro OM-D E-M1 X camera that make it dustproof, splashproof, and freezeproof to -10°C. This means you can confidently shoot in some of the harshest conditions, from rain to freezing temperatures. A 2.36 million dot OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) provides vibrant, high-contrast viewing with minimal edge distortion. Designed with a long highpoint, this offers optimal comfort and visibility, even for users wearing glasses.
Powerful In-Body Image Stabilisation
Capture crisp photos and stable video, even when shooting handheld, thanks to the Olympus OM-D E-M5 III’s powerful 5-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS). Not only does this system allow you to shoot 5.5 stops slower without affecting sharpness; it also counteracts roll blur, which in-lens image stabilisation alone can’t. When used with compatible image stabilised lenses, 5-axis IBIS performance in the OM-D E-M5 III increases to 6.5 stops – a huge benefit for low-light and telephoto shooting.
Pro-Level Autofocus & Face/Eye Detection
With the Olympus OM-D E-M5 III you can count on precise, responsive autofocus, even in dimmer lighting, at wide apertures and in mixed perspective scenes. The E-M5 Mark III shares the pro E-M1 Mark II’s sophisticated 121-point On-chip Phase Detection AF system, which can also be adjusted via the touchscreen while you’re looking through the viewfinder. Razor-sharp portraits are virtually guaranteed thanks to Face/Eye Priority AF, which automatically detects and tracks human faces and eyes.
High-Speed Continuous Shooting & Shutter
Shooting intense, unpredictable action demands speed and precision, and the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III easily delivers. The camera offers up to 10 fps (frames per second) high-speed continuous shooting in AF (autofocus)/AE (auto exposure) tracking mode, enabling you to sharply capture athletes, performers, children or animals in action.
The OM-D E-M5 III also boasts a super-fast top mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 sec. This makes it possible to use a large aperture in bright outdoor conditions, allowing accurate exposures and shallow depth of field without the need for a neutral density filter.
4K & C4K Video
Produce brilliantly high quality movies with 4K 30p and Cinema 4K (C4K) 24p video recording, available at high bit rates of 102 Mbps for 4K and 237 Mbps for C4K. Anti-flicker shooting/Flicker scan features help ensure consistent exposure and white balance, and prevent striped patterns from flickering light sources. An exclusive Picture Mode—designed for recording flat tones—and a LUT file are also provided, allowing for rich colour grading options in post.
Innovative Shooting Functions for Tricky Shots Made Easy
Mastering technically tricky shots is easy thanks to innovative, Olympus-original shooting features in the OM-D E-M5 Mark III. Create beautiful long exposures with Live Composite, which adds only the brighter details to your composite image to prevent overly bright exposures, and Live Bulb, which allows you to check your exposure while shooting. With Pro Capture, which starts shooting when you half-press the shutter, photograph split-second moments that time lag would otherwise make impossible. Achieve the exact depth of field you desire using Focus Bracketing and Focus Stacking. And produce stunningly detailed 50MP equivalent photos thanks to the Tripod High Res Shot function, which uses sensor-shift technology to composite 8 sequential shots.
