Improved Design

Sigma has re-engineered the 35mm f/1.2 to be approximately 30% lighter and 20% shorter than the previous version while further enhancing optical performance. The lens integrates an assignable AFL button, focus mode switch, and aperture ring lock, with the ability to switch between clicked and declicked aperture control for smooth video operation. Built for demanding environments, the lens features dust- and splash-resistant construction along with a water- and oil-repellent front element coating.

Precision Optical Design

The advanced optical system employs four double-sided aspherical elements and one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element to maintain clarity across the aperture range while reducing size and weight. A total of 17 elements in 13 groups, paired with an 11-blade rounded diaphragm, deliver smooth, natural bokeh with minimal aberrations, colour fringing, or double lines even at f/1.2. Enhanced backlight resistance reduces flare and ghosting for consistent contrast and colour accuracy.

Upgraded Focusing System

Designed for both stills and video, the lens reduces focus breathing and ensures precise performance in professional video applications. Sigma’s dual HLA (High-Response Linear Actuator) focusing system provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus, maintaining portability without compromise.
