A stepping motor provides optimal performance for both phase-detection AF and contrast AF, allowing you to autofocus quickly and accurately for those unmissable expressions or moments. An iris ring lock switch prevents the iris ring from moving during shooting, so you can concentrate on perfecting each shot without needing to adjust the lens. The lens can also be de-clicked via the iris ring click switch to provide smooth, seamless handling during video recording. A focus mode switch and AFL (autofocus lock) button—which can be assigned various functions via the camera body—are also included, giving you superior control right at your fingertips.
