10 bit 4:2:2 Internal and 16-bit RAW External Recording

The Sony FX3 can output 16 bit RAW at 4264 x 2408 [16:9] resolution – comfortably more than DCI-4K. At the same time, it can internally record 10 bit 4:2:2 XAVC HS 4K, XAVC S 4K, or XAVC S-I 4K, and proxy files, providing outstanding scope for post-production. S-Log3 gamma curve and S-Gamut3.Cine help capture lifelike colour and dynamic range, while the S-Cinetone picture profile delivers the same rich hues and natural skin tones as other Cinema Line cameras, without any need for colour grading.

Professional Precision at up to 120 fps 

High readout speeds and brilliant AF performance make it easy to capture professional results at high frame rates. Capture 4K 120 fps with every frame in sharp focus, and enjoy full control over your shooting frame rate in Slow and Quick (S&Q) mode, which produces stunning sequences at up to 5x slow motion (with 24p output).

High-Precision Focusing

Get reliably sharp focus whether you’re in MF or AF mode. The Sony FX3’s Fast Hybrid AF system tenaciously tracks subjects as they move, even when you’re using shallow depth of field and high frame rates. Seven AF Transition Speed settings make creating rack focus easy, and the rear LCD monitor adjusts your focal point with a simple tap.

Active Mode IBIS for Ultra-Steady Recording

Sony’s Active Mode delivers the advanced in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) that filmmakers need. This system optically corrects camera shake along 5 axes, making smooth recording possible even when you shoot handheld without a gimbal, while walking, and in 4K.

XLR & Digital Inputs for Professional Sound

Along with a built-in microphone, the Sony FX3 Cinema Line camera comes with a detachable handle featuring two XLR audio inputs. As well as offering steadier recording and more comfortable handling in tricky scenarios (like when shooting from a low position), this enables professional quality audio capture via external mics. Select from various audio recording formats such as 4-channel 24-bit. When the handle isn’t attached to the Multi Interface (MI) Shoe, you also have the choice of digital audio recording via a digital microphone (sold separately).
