Central to the Canon R3 is a brand-new 24.1MP back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor and world-class DIGIC X image processor which delivers the fast readout and processing power required to capture RAW files at 30fps, with full AF/AE tracking.

The all-new sensor of the Canon EOS R3 is perfectly designed to produce less distortion and rolling shutter when shooting in Electronic shutter mode and offers continuous  burst of up to 30 fps along with full Dual Pixel CMOS AF and auto exposure. In addition, the electronic shutter will even support flash sync at 1/180 sec. with some Canon Speedlites.

Canon Eye Control AF Technology

Featuring Canon’s very own Eye Control AF technology, the Canon EOS R3 focuses on where you are looking. This exceptional control over AF allows the camera to react as a human eye which is very beneficial to sports and action photography.

The Electronic Viewfinder of the Canon EOS R3 offers photographers the power to select the initial area for AF tracking just by simply looking directly at the viewfinder location where they want to initialise the AF. With Canon’s Eye Control AF and Servo AF activated, the Canon EOS R3 can focus on and track fast-moving subjects at a specific location in the frame. When Face Detect + Tracking is active, the camera will continue to follow moving subjects around the entire active AF area.

8-Stops Image Stabiliser Technology

Benefit from up to 8-stops³ of protection against camera shake with Image Stabiliser (IS) technology. The camera’s In-Body IS works in tandem with the Optical IS built into many RF lenses, letting you shoot handheld in dim light or while using longer shutter speeds.

Low-Light Performance

Remarkably, the Canon EOS R3 focuses in lighting situations as low as EV -7 or more. Along with up to 8 stops of Coordinated IS control when used with RF lenses featuring Optical Image Stabilisation, the Canon R3 will deliver amazing performance even in dark areas. With the right lens, this camera works great on sports events and concert photography.

Rugged Body Design

The Canon R3 features a durable lightweight magnesium alloy body with an integrated vertical grip similar to the 1D series DSLR cameras, offering seamless horizontal and vertical handling for extreme shooting situations. 

The Canon EOS R3 also offers a weather-resistant build that matches Canon’s top-of-the-line EOS-1D X Mark III camera.
