Capture images with stunningly lifelike detail, from the darkest of shadows to the brightest of highlights, using the Panasonic Lumix S1 – the ultimate hybrid camera. The Lumix S1 incorporates a 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor, highly optimised Venus Engine and Three-dimensional Colour Control to deliver outstanding sharpness and clarity, naturally reproduced colours and wide dynamic range. When it comes to low-light photography and video this camera excels, detecting autofocus at -6 EV and exhibiting minimal noise even at the highest ISO settings.
The Lumix S1 has the largest viewfinder of any camera in its class, as well as the world’s highest viewfinder resolution at 5.76 million dots. With 0.78x magnification (switchable to 0.7x or 0.74x to accommodate different shooters and situations), smooth 60 fps/120 fps (switchable) display, low (<0.005 seconds) time lag and high contrast of 10,000:1, the OLED Real View Finder offers a display that approximates natural vision.
With the combined powers of 5-axis Body Image Stabilisation and Lumix S Series lenses’ 2-axis Optical Image Stabiliser, the Lumix S1 offers 5.5 to 6 stops of shutter speed compensation, providing exceptional stability for increased sharpness even in low light conditions, or while shooting one-handed or with a telephoto lens.
Create ultra-high detail (up to 96MP) photos and large-scale prints using High-Resolution mode, which utilises sensor-shift technology to produce a single, intricately detailed RAW image from eight consecutively shot images – perfect for landscape, architecture, commercial and fine art photographers requiring the highest level of image quality.
Offering a wider dynamic range with more natural contrast throughout light and shadows, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) Photo Mode produces vibrant HDR images and brilliantly captures lights, from glaring sunlight to glittering stars. Play them back in their full, true-to-life splendour as HSP files on the latest HDR TVs.
Let no moment escape you. Utilising Contrast AF with Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology, the Lumix S1 delivers brilliantly high speed, high precision AF. Eye and face tracking allows you to capture outstandingly sharp portraits, while Advanced AI Technology quickly and accurately detects specific subjects—both humans and fast-moving animals including birds, canines and felines—even when the subject is turned away from you.
A maximum shutter speed of 1/800 sec (and an industry-leading sync speed of 1/320 sec with the external flash, sold separately) lets you snap fast movement and use wide apertures in bright conditions, while burst shooting (9 fps in AFS or 6 fps in AFC) delivers 6K or 4K photos in 18MP or 8MP resolution, respectively.
The Lumix S1 offers outstanding features for video professionals, including 4K 60p/50p and High-Speed Video for slow-motion recording in 4K (max. 60 fps/50fps) and full HD (max. 180 fps/150fps). With full-pixel readout and 1.0x crop factor in 30p/25p, you can film stunning footage without time limit* in both full HD and 4K (30p/25p), in addition to HDR. The camera is XLR mic adapter-compatible and includes microphone and headphone jacks and a lockable HDMI Type A terminal, providing all the connectivity you need while recording in the field.
*Maximum 29 minutes 59 seconds in 4K 60p/50p until the SD memory card becomes full or the battery runs out
The Lumix S1 is ruggedly yet ergonomically designed to endure heavy use and maximise user ease. With a full die-cast front/rear magnesium alloy frame and sealing at all joints, buttons, and dials, the camera is dust, splash, and freeze-resistant down to -10°C.
The 2.1 million-dot high-resolution monitor features touch control and a durable triaxial tilt mechanism for increased flexibility and functionality. At the top of the camera, there’s also a largest-in-class status LCD for fast checking of settings. A firm but a comfortable grip, ergonomic layout, eight-directional joystick, illuminated buttons, and refined user interface further facilitate shooting.
Double memory card slots (one for UHS-II SD cards and one for and XQD cards, and upgradable in future to CFexpress) ensures high speed, high-capacity, continuous recording of data
