Rode NTG2 Shotgun Microphone
Rode NTG2: Designed for Professional Applications
A broadcast-quality shotgun microphone with super-cardioid polar pattern, the Rode NTG2 offers low noise circuitry and a two-step high-pass filter (Flat/80Hz) that rolls off low frequency sound - from far off traffic, air conditioner, footsteps, and other noise - to preserve the quality of the captured audio. With this, the Rode NTG-2 is ideal for movies, documentaries, interviews, and more.
- Condenser transducer
- Two-step high-pass filter (Flat/80Hz)
- P48 phantom power or AA battery option
- Excellent off-axis signal rejection
- Includes mic clip, windshield, and zip case
Portable Broadcast Quality Sound
The Rode NTG2 has elevated audio sensitivity that allows it to produce strong output levels without applying extreme gain at the mic preamp and distorting the quality. This microphone from Rode has focused front-facing directionality and enhanced attenuation of sound entering from the sides, to capture sound source effectively. Besides the native 20Hz-20kHz frequency response, the NTG2 also has a selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz is available, which will prevent low-end noise such as air conditioners and traffic from being recorded.
Reduce Ambient and Handling Noise
Aside from the two-step high-pass filter (Flat/80Hz) that rolls off low frequency to reduce ambient noise, the Rode NTG2 has low handling noise at 18 dBA low of self-noise. It also features line plus gradient acoustic principle that minimise audio and noise at the off-axis (sides) of the microphone.
An optional “DeadCat” furry windshield can also be attached to the mic to minimise light wind noise and plosives during recording.
Boompole Mount Ready
The pack includes a mic clip for easy placement on a mic stand or boompole. Alternatively, you can mount the NTG2 in the Rode SM4-R shock mount or Rode PG2-R pistol grip (sold separately) to avoid the transfer of vibrations.
Built to Last
Durable and lightweight, the NTG2 shotgun microphone from Rode is made of high-grade aluminum housing with a hard-wearing epoxy finish. This rugged construction can withstand the stress caused by location recording.
Battery or Phantom Powered
The Rode NTG2 can either be powered with P48 phantom power or AA (1.5V) battery, which is great when using video cameras that do not supply phantom power. The output is a standard 3-pin XLR male connector.
