To deliver the best video recording performance, Nikon carefully considered every aspect of the lens’ design. Focus breathing (shifting of the angle of view while adjusting focus) is effectively compensated and noise (e.g. AF drive, diaphragm drive, and control room operation) is kept to a minimum. A stepping motor (STM) ensures quiet, responsive AF operation and smooth diaphragm control provides a natural transition of image brightness.
