With excellent optical performance packed in a compact, lightweight, dustproof, splashproof, and freezeproof construction, this M.Zuiko PRO super-telephoto lens lets you shoot outstanding-quality images even in the harshest environments. This is the first Olympus interchangeable lens to be equipped with in-lens IS (image stabilisation). 5-axis Sync IS[3], a collaboration of in-lens IS and in-body 5-axis IS, achieves the world's most powerful[2] image stabilisation equivalent to 6 shutter speed steps. With excellent mobility, these features make previously difficult hand-held super-telephoto shooting possible. When combined with the MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter, the lens can be used as an 840mm[1] super-telephoto lens.

With excellent telemacro capabilities, the Olympus 300mm f4 PRO lens is just as impressive when it comes to close-up shooting. Capture insects, flowers and other small details as closely as 1.15m from the front of the lens, at up to 0.48x magnification.
Outstandingly Powerful Image Stabilisation
With this Olympus 300mm lens, you can leave the tripod behind. In-lens image stabilisation (IS) counteracts hand shake blur by the equivalent of 4 shutter speed steps, helping you to get tack-sharp results when shooting handheld. When using this lens on an Olympus camera with in-body IS, you’ll get even more powerful stabilisation—an outstanding 6 shutter speed steps—through 5-axis Sync IS.

The Olympus 300mm f4 PRO lens delivers Olympus’ highest resolution to date, capturing each subject with brilliant colour and detail. Its design incorporates Super ED (extra-low dispersion), HR (high refractive) and E-HR (extra-high refractive) lens elements to control colour fringing and other aberrations common to telephoto lenses. The result? Stunning edge-to-edge definition, even at f4. Olympus’ Z Coating Nano lens coating cuts ghosting and flare, ensuring clear, vivid images even in backlit scenes.

The Olympus 300mm f4 PRO lens’ design technologies help provide not only less weight but also a remarkably fast, accurate lens drive. Whether photographing your favourite team or a rare bird in flight, you’ll capture split-second action with superb speed, precision and silence. An innovative MF (manual focus) clutch mechanism allows you to switch from AF to MF focus in an instant, while controls placed strategically on the lens barrel let you adjust your settings without altering your grip. Refine your focusing range and speed via the focus limit switch, turn image stabilisation on or off via the IS switch, or operate one of many different functions using the customisable L-Fn button.
