40.2MP BSI X-Trans CMOS 5HR Sensor and X-Processor 5

At the heart of the X-H2 is a brand new 40.2MP BSI X-Trans CMOS 5HR sensor, providing extraordinarily high-resolution stills and video. The newly designed back-illuminated sensor can acquire greater detail and clarity when working in low-light conditions. Paired with the X-Processor 5, the combination delivers improved readout speeds, faster AF, a maximum shutter speed of 1/180,000 sec electronic, native ISO 125 and improved noise performance, greater dynamic range, and overall improved image quality.

160MP Pixel Shift Multi-Shot

This super high-resolution imaging mode allows you to achieve even greater resolution than a single exposure with the 40.2MP sensor. Utilising the camera’s in-built image stabilisation mechanism, the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode shifts the sensor with high precision to take 20 consecutive exposures. This process acquires approximately 160MP of information, which the dedicated software, Pixel Shift Combiner, uses to generate a single image with a higher resolution, delivering an image with greater colour accuracy and detail than is possible with a single exposure.

Subject Detect AF with Eye Tracking

The new high-resolution sensor has significantly more phase-detection pixels than other  X Series cameras, resulting in fast and accurate focusing performance across more of the sensor. Utilising the power of the X-Processor 5 enables more AF calculation cycles, delivering more precise AF performance in a broad range of shooting scenarios. This upgraded phase-detection focusing system has been developed with ”Deep Learning” AI technology to accurately recognise and track human faces and eyes, animals, birds, cars, motorbikes, bicycles, planes and trains, even in movie modes.

In-Body Image Stabilisation

The 5-Axis IBIS compensates for up to 7 stops of camera shake, perfect for shooting handheld at slower shutter speeds or with longer telephoto lenses. 

Up to 8K Recording Supported

Beyond stills shooting, the X-H2 is a true hybrid camera, with the newly designed sensor also enabling impressive video capabilities. Supporting 8K 30fps video, internal recording at 4:2:2 10-bit colour with continuous recording up to 160 minutes.

High Resolution Viewfinder

Equipped with a high definition 5.76MP EVF for bright, clear viewing and rich detail and a 120 fps refresh rate for exceptionally smooth playback of moving subjects.

Dual Memory Card Slots

Dual memory card slots for file-saving flexibility. The CF Express Type B slot is ideal for fast continuous shooting and high-resolution video recording, while the SD UHS-II slot provides a convenient option for less demanding shooting.

Ports and Interface

A full-size HDMI A port offers a more reliable connection when outputting video to an external recorder or monitor. It is fitted with 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports for more precise audio recording and monitoring.

Durable, Weather-Sealed Build

Housed inside a weather-sealed chassis for reliable performance even in harsh weather. Capable of operating in temperatures between -10°C - +40°C.

NP-W235 Battery and Optional Vertical Power Booster Grip

Included NP-W235 battery offers approximately 600 frames per charge. When the X-H2S is paired with the optional grip (holds two additional batteries) delivers around 1700 frames per charge.
