The Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary Lens offers a wide-angle perspective in a remarkably lightweight design, making it the lightest prime in Sigma’s f/1.4 DC Contemporary series. Built for APS-C format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras, it provides an 18mm full-frame equivalent focal length, ensuring your entire scene is captured with clarity. This makes it an outstanding choice for landscape, street, and indoor photography, as well as vlogging.
Equipped with a responsive stepping AF motor, the lens delivers quick, accurate, and quiet autofocus performance. Focus breathing is minimised, making it especially reliable for video recording and smooth focus transitions. The large f/1.4 maximum aperture enables strong low-light performance and the ability to create beautifully defocused backgrounds for a cinematic look.
The optical design incorporates three double-sided aspherical elements to maintain a compact build while limiting distortion and enhancing overall sharpness. Two special low dispersion (SLD) elements further reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations, ensuring images with exceptional clarity and colour accuracy. In total, the lens consists of 14 elements in 12 groups, delivering precise optical performance across the frame.
This lens has been engineered with portability in mind, offering a 20% shorter length than the previous Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN lens. Its smaller size and lighter weight make it highly convenient for handheld shooting, video work, and travel photography.
