The Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD lens is designed for Canon EF-S DSLR cameras with APS-C sensors (such as the Canon 7D, 90D, Canon 800D, and Canon 1500D).
The EF-RF mount adapter will let you mount the Tamron 18-400mm lens on Canon EOS R series mirrorless cameras, while the EF-M mount adapter will let you mount the lens on Canon EOS M series mirrorless cameras.
With the Sigma MC-11 mount converter or an EF to E-mount Metabones adapter, the lens can also work on Sony E-mount cameras.
Full Frame Cameras
The Tamron 18-400mm lens won’t cover a full frame sensor so, while it can be mounted on any EF-mount camera (e.g. Canon 6D) or adapter, it will produce significant vignetting on full frame cameras.
There is no tripod collar available for the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD lens, so it can’t be mounted to a tripod.
No – with the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD lens, you can’t override AF (autofocus) by simply rotating the focus ring. You need to switch from AF to MF mode in order to manually focus.
No, the front element of the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD lens doesn’t rotate during zooming or focusing. This makes it suitable for use with a polarising filter.
