The Lumix DMC-G7 sensor produces shots that look superior to its 16 megapixels. Fast performance combined with outstanding image quality from the Live MOS Sensor and Venus Engine 9 to produce excellent imagery even in a range of lighting conditions. Sensitivity ranges from ISO 200 to 25600, with the ability to extend down to ISO 100, making it easier to work in bright conditions with longer shutter speeds. So you can experiment with those long exposure landscapes or capture subtle details in portraits.
When stills won’t capture all the action you’re after, switch over to 4K UHD video recording with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7. Capable of capturing 30p or 24p frames rates at 100Mbps in the MP4 format, you’ll rarely miss a beat. You can switch over from MP4 to the AVCHD format in full HD 1080p to shoot at a different video quality, which is helpful if you want to upload your videos to YouTube or burn them to a DVD. Swap over from HD (high definition), which gives a better overall picture and is great for uploading to Vimeo for a higher resolution, to SD (standard definition) which is supported by more editing software and uses less hard disk space. The built-in stereo microphone with integrated wind-cut filter adds undisturbed audio during your recordings. If that’s not enough, you can always add another external microphone via the 3.5mm jack for even clearer sound.
Ensuring you capture just the right moment, this camera is enabled with a range of 4K video burst modes. Just as with video recording, the 4K Burst mode allows you to continuously record 8MP images at 30fps for nearly 30 minutes straight, ideal in times when you need a fast frame rate to capture the right moment. If you need more leeway, this camera has 4K Pre-Burst, ideal for times when you're unsure of the critical moment to press the shutter button. This mode will record 8MP images at 30fps one second prior to and one second after pressing the shutter button in order to give you 60 frames to choose from. And the 4K Burst (S/S) mode, which closely follows the 4K video recording process, allows you to playback your video, pause at the chosen moment, and use the shutter button to mark a chosen frame from the video and save it as a single 8MP frame.
With a sleek body design that is characteristic of Micro Four Thirds cameras, this G7 camera in clean-cut black combines modern functionality with classic features. The front and rear dials make it easy to adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance settings to suit the lighting and conditions, giving you full reign to play around with different moods. When you want to switch over to 4K video, it’s a simple switch of the mode dial to change the function settings, which also drive a range of shooting modes.
Connect and share your images and videos from anywhere with an internet connection. Use the Panasonic Image App to easily share your images on your social media apps, from Instagram to Facebook and everything in between. Or you might just want to send your images to friends or family over email, which can be done directly from your tablet or laptop when paired with your camera.
Capable of burst shooting and continuous shooting at 8 frames per second, autofocus is fast and accurate with precise subject detection. The depth from defocus (DFD) AF system achieves ultra-fast focus speeds when you only have a split second to capture the moment. Even when you’re subject is off-centre or moving too quickly to accurately focus on, this camera can pinpoint the subject in the frame accurately. This makes it easier to capture fast moving subjects, such as intense sporting moments, fleeting animals in the wild, or even your racing children!

Yes, this camera has a microphone input to capture sound, but no headphone output.
While this camera comes with one battery, we’d always recommend keeping a spare in your back pocket for days when you’re going to be shooting for a long time. It’s also important to have a spare battery for times when you’re travelling and don’t have access to power to charge your battery overnight.
If you want to capture long exposures, we suggest using a small tripod such as the Joby Gorillapod. It can also be hand for helping make sure your video content is beautifully smooth.
If you’re planning on taking this camera out and about (which you should be!) we recommend packing it in a small bag to protect it during your travels. Check out the Manfrotto street collection for some stylish and affordable options.
