For the professional videographer, the Panasonic HD HC-PV100 camcorder delivers full high-definition shots. The brightly-lit LED video light enables shooting in dim light, while still delivering softness and accurate colour reproduction. The dual SD card slots will save you from moments of despair with the ability to have two cards on the go at all times.
Delivering brilliant videos even in low light, the 1/3.1-inch BSI sensor will give you what you need to capture exceptional shots in any conditions. Not all cameras give you such versatility to shoot in low light. Whether you’re shooting in artificial indoor light, dim mood lighting, candlelight or nightscapes, the HC-PV100 camcorder can handle any situation and handle noise distortion to deliver clearer images, every time.
Capturing night scenes and shooting in dark places doesn’t have to be limiting. The built-in LED video light in this Panasonic camcorder offers reliability when shooting in darker situations. The video light is incredibly bright at 300lx at one metre for reliable shooting in dimly lit places. A diffusion filter softens the light source to ensure it looks natural, while the colour conversion filter converts the colour temperature for softness to produce lifelike colour reproduction.
There's nothing worse than discovering your SD card is full and you don’t have a back-up, then having to laboriously go through your reel and delete a bunch of shots in order to capture just a couple more. The HC-PV100 thankfully has two SD card slots so you’ll never find yourself in a position where you have no more card memory. The system cleverly switches over from one card to another when the first one becomes full. Whether you actively rely on this system when you have lots of shots to take or it's just there as your backup, it's an extremely handy function to have.
With a dynamic 20x optical zoom, you’ll be able to capture moments even from far away. The drive ranges are reduced with four lens groups driving separately, resulting in high image quality. Don’t let the small frame of this camcorder fool you. It has high powered zoom that captures scenes from far away with immaculate detail.
It can be challenging to achieve crisp, clear images when shooting handheld. With the built-in 5-axis hybrid O.I.S+ (Optical Image Stabiliser Plus) in this camcorder, camera shake is stopped in its tracks. Even when shooting in low light or from a distance, the internal stabilisers in this camcorder stop blur that comes from camera shake to deliver crisp and clear images in just about any shooting situation.

This video camera does come with a built-in mic, however we recommend investing in a quality external mic for better sound quality. The Rode NTG1 is a great choice, and don’t forget to get the Rode XLR cable to go with it.
We recommend a memory card with a minimum speed of 95mb/s. For days when you’re going to be shooting a lot of content, go for a larger card so you’re not needing to swap cards all the time.
It’s always a good idea to keep a spare battery on hand for days when you’re going to be filming a lot or shooting all day. You don’t want to find yourself caught out in a photo-ready moment when your battery runs out!
For smoother video shots, try using a tripod with a fluid head for smooth video shooting.
