Produce breathtaking results with the Olympus OM-D E-M1X and M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro Lens. Powerful yet portable, this camera and lens kit provides exceptional speed; image quality; and dust-, splash- and freeze-proof durability. The lens’ 24-80mm equivalent zoom is ideal for everything from detailed landscapes to exquisite portraits, and its 20cm minimum working distance at all focal lengths enables stunning macro shots. A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture affords gorgeous bokeh and superb low-light results even during handheld shooting.
The E-M1X was built with professional shooters’ input to deliver the ultimate in performance and reliability. Providing comfortable, intuitive operability while shooting horizontally or vertically, an integrated grip houses two quick-charge batteries (replaceable even when the camera is attached to a tripod/monopod) and offers superb balance with larger lenses. The magnesium alloy body is dust-, splash- and freeze-proof down to -10°C – even while connected to a microphone, earphones or remote control cable. It also incorporates a high speed, high magnification EVF offering clear, distortion-free viewfinding; a robust shutter; and two UHS-II SD card slots behind a lockable door.
Twin TruePic VIII image processors are key to the E-M1X’s exceptional autofocus system. Easily and accurately focus/track even the fastest of subjects thanks to 121 cross-type AF points; a user-friendly AF multi-selector button and highly adaptable AF modes; and Intelligent Subject Detection (derived from Deep Learning AI) that easily auto-tracks cars, planes and trains in stills mode.
With locked AF in RAW mode, the E-M1X can shoot blackout-free, high-speed sequential shots at up to 60 fps – fast enough to capture moments that the human eye can’t. With AF/AE tracking, up to 18 fps can be achieved. For shooting indoors under indoor lighting, an anti-flicker feature eliminates both uneven exposures/colour between sequential frames and striped patterns that can occur when shooting movies or in Silent Mode.
Combining a 20.4 MP Live MOS sensor and the world’s best image stabilisation to date, the E-M1X delivers unprecedented image sharpness and detail. 5-axis sync Image Stabilisation provides 7-7.5 stops of shutter speed compensation (body only or when combined with an M.Zuiko IS PRO lens) – perfect for keeping shots sharp even in dim light. With the Handheld High Res function enabled, it’s possible to capture stunningly high definition (50 MP equivalent) images handheld, down to 1/20 sec – ideal for cropping, large prints, and occasions when you can’t use a tripod. Using a tripod and Tripod High Res gives you a staggering 80 MP resolution. Live ND mode gives you the effect of ND2-32 (1-5 stops), allowing for previewable slow shutter effects (stills only) without the need for an external ND filter.
With 4K, Cinema 4K, 120 fps high-speed shooting in full HD, adjustable stabilisation and no more 29-minute recording limit, the E-M1X delivers smooth, cinema-quality video – even while handheld. Its dual processors let you film for extended periods without the normal impacts of overheating, while the new OM-Log400 helps preserve shadow and highlight detail during filming and provides broad latitude for colour grading in post.
New accessories, software and features equal exciting new possibilities. Thanks to Olympus’ wireless capture technology, there’s no need to tether; the included (and upgraded) Olympus software lets you easily transfer RAW images via Wi-Fi to your computer or smart device. Enable the camera’s field sensor system (complete with a built-in temperature sensor, compass and manometer) to record detailed metadata so you know exactly where and in what conditions your photos and videos were taken.
