The flagship in Nikon’s first line of full frame mirrorless cameras, the Z7 marks a new era in stills and video performance. With a native sensitivity of ISO 100-51,200 (expandable to ISO 50-204,800), the camera’s 45.7MP backside illumination CMOS sensor delivers exceptional detail and sharpness with minimal noise to satisfy the most perfecting of shooters.
Featuring 493 focus points spread across 90% of the frame, the Z 7’s hybrid AF system switches automatically between focal plane phase detection AF and contrast detect AF to focus with outstanding accuracy and speed.
A 3.6 million-dot electronic viewfinder ((EVF) delivers a natural, comfortable, optical viewfinder (OVF)-like viewing experience with 100% frame coverage and 0.8x magnification. You can also display the <i> menu in the EVF and quickly view and adjust essential settings without taking your eye away from the finder.
Capture professional quality video at 4K/30p* or full HD/120p, as well as 8K time lapses. Active D-Lighting and focus peaking facilitate exposure control in either mode, while Nikon’s own 10-bit N-log can also be used with 10-bit HDMI output for maximum dynamic range. Extensive colour depth and 12 stop dynamic range enable superior colour grading and timecode** support makes syncing footage and sound from multiple devices quicker and simpler. The control ring built into NIKKOR Z lenses allows smooth, quiet control over key exposure settings. *Sharper 4K using the full-pixel readout available using DX-based movie format **Not available while shooting slow motion
The Z7’s in-camera, 5-axis vibration reduction (VR) counteracts movement by an incredible five stops for the steadiest possible handheld photography and video. Better still, it can also be utilised with NIKKOR F lenses (equipped with or without VR) using the FTZ mount adapter. In addition, silent image capture eliminates shutter release movement and noise.
In a compact, lightweight body, the Z7 combines the durability and dust- and drip-resistance of the D850 with the usability finely honed by Nikon over years of camera making. The grip is firm and ergonomically designed, controls are laid out for optimum usability and—in addition to a tilting 3.2 inch, 2.1 million-dot LCD touch screen—there’s a top display panel that lets you instantly view important settings.

The Z 7 takes the Nikon EN-EL15b battery.
The Z7 takes a single XQD card for fast saving of images and video. The slot is also compatible with CFexpress, allowing for even faster speeds in the future.
Nikon’s SB speedlights are compatible with both the Z 7 and Z 6. Is the camera weather sealed? Yes. Like the Nikon D850, the Z 7 is fully sealed against dust and moisture
Yes, the Z7 can record 8-bit video internally and externally at the same time.
Yes, the Z7 has built-in Wi-Fi for direct connection to a smart device and wireless file transfer to a computer.
The Z7 features a Z mount that accepts NIKKOR Z lenses. The camera is also compatible with NIKKOR F lenses via an FTZ adapter.
No, the adapter contains no glass that could block light; its purpose is to fill the space created by the lack of mirror. So the adapter has no effect on exposure.
