Event Wrap-Up: Tertiary Student Open Night – 13th March 2019
With exclusive offers, hands-on time with the latest gear, and no small amount of free pizza, CameraPro’s Tertiary Student Open Night proved to be another great in-store event.
Last week students of all disciplines and from various colleges/unis flocked to CameraPro Basecamp in Newstead, where they got to mingle with fellow photographers, hear all about the latest gear, and test out our extensive collection of display cameras, lenses, studio equipment and accessories.
There were special discounts throughout the evening, plus a tutorial on basic studio techniques like using a grey card, light meter and reflectors.
The night was a great opportunity for students, both new and graduating, to get one-on-one advice about choosing and using photographic gear. And it was fantastic for us to meet lots of new faces and share in the passion of so many aspiring photographers.
If you didn’t get to attend this year’s Open Night, don’t fret!
If you’re Brisbane-based, CameraPro’s close ties to the local photography and student communities mean there’ll be plenty more chances for you to pick our collective brains. As well as hosting regular workshops for local photography schools and supplying the latest Profoto equipment to Queensland College of Art, CameraPro is the official 2019 supporter of the UQ Photo Society and Griffith Uni Photography Club. In supporting these groups we’ll be hosting workshops, providing studio/event space, lending advice at club-run events and sponsoring competition prizes, to name a few examples.
Otherwise, feel free to drop in to either of our showrooms to chat or try out our display gear, or just call or email us if you need help.
A big thanks to all who did attend our 2019 Student Open Night – it was great to meet you! Hope to see you around campus or back in store soon.
