Celebrating Women in Photography

Verge Collective (VC) is a recently established all female artist collective. The collective is made up of 6 emerging photographic and new media artists, working in Brisbane and surrounds.

CameraPro is proud to support Verge Collective as emerging female artists within the Australian photographic community.

VC came about as its members saw the need for a support network within their artistic practice, and through VC each of the members are able to collaborate with each other in order to provide feedback and help each other improve their work rapidly.

The aim of the collective is to provide a platform for the members to have access to feedback from peers and mentors in order to improve their artistic practice - all scheduled around the family life and work commitments of the all female group.

Verge Collective endeavors to create a community where artists can collaborate and reflect on their work - sharing their skills with each other and the wider community. Part of VC's involvement within the community is to seek mentorship from established photographers, and create ongoing partnerships with businesses in the photographic industry such as CameraPro.

To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, we wanted to create a video showcasing Verge Collective - this video was produced in house by one of the CameraPro team members Bryce Jarrett, in collaboration with VC.
