Creative Still Life Photography

Keen to learn how to take the seemingly mundane and capture something dynamic? Then join us Saturday 1st April at our Arthur street basecamp for a creative still life demontration and a bite of morning tea.

Commercial photographer James Shields will be instore to demonstrate how he uses a range of Canon speedlites and camera gear, to create striking high and low key still life images. Still life photography allows the photographer to create an image with full control over the lighting, mood and composition, generally in a studio or studio-like set up.

What’s included:

  • Demonstration and instruction from James on how to capture stunning images of everyday objects in a studio set up with speedlites
  • Hands on time with our Canon display gear
  • Morning tea

What to bring:

  • Your own Canon DSLR, lens and fully charged battery
  • Memory card
  • Paper and pen for noting down tips from James

Please note while workshop attendees are welcome to participate in the workshop and photograph James’ setup, creative license for the images remains with James.
