Equipped with dual DIGIC 6+ image processors, this DSLR produces fast continuous shooting rates up to 16 frames per second in Live View without AF and 14 frames per second with full AF/AE tracking. The high speed shooting will enable you to capture those millisecond moments in an instant, whether it’s snapping a speeding car, stopping an animal in its tracks or capturing a burst of laughter, that second won’t flash past your eyes too quickly.
The full-frame 20.2 megapixel CMOS sensor enables ISO of 100 to 51200 expandable from 50 to 409600. You’ll be able to capture your moments in any light, whether it’s in the fall of the evening, the early hours of the day, in bright daylight or artificial indoor settings. The details of your subject will still come through in any scenario, resulting in high quality, professional images always. Whether it’s a high-intensity sporting moment, a speeding race car or a fast-moving animal in the wild, this camera has the ability to quickly capture these moments in an instant.
Accuracy on the move won’t be a problem with the 3.2-inch 1.62m-dot touchscreen LCD monitor. You’ll be able to see your shots crystal clear, captured with the very bright and detailed screen. With touch functionality, you’ll easily be able to navigate the menus and make adjustments to your settings at the touch of your finger. With touch-point autofocus, you can achieve the right focal point quicker and easier without making manual adjustments.
Suited for the multimedia professional, the DCI 4K video delivers at 60 frames per second to capture motion on the run. Snapping up intense moments with clarity and detail won’t be an issue. If you need to touch anything up, you’ll be able to give your videos a post-production crop and edit. And for those high-speed moments? Wind back quick video reels with slow-motion capability or take stills with 8.8MP screen grab.
It goes without saying that accurate focus is critical for a good shot. With Canon’s EOS iTR and AF case settings, you’ll achieve accurate and continuous autofocus. You’ll be able to shoot stills with defined accuracy even in low light, and you won’t find your videos out of focus. The dual pixel CMOS AF technology and movie servo AF gives fast and smooth accuracy in your videos. The advanced AI Servo AF III+ improves tracking sensitivity when sudden movements occur. The new AE/AF 360k RGB+IR metering sensor provides accurate exposure and improved subject recognition. Flicker detection works perfectly in artificial light settings when you’re capturing indoor sporting events.
CFast allows for incredibly fast shooting that can handle large buffering and video files. With the new CFast 2.0 card capability, the camera can deliver a burst of unlimited JPEGs or 170 RAW images in continuous high speed shooting. CFast CF card slots allow for high speeds, a reliable standard used for years.
Take your camera with you anywhere you go and easily recall where images were taken with built-in GPS in EXIF data. Tag your images so you can easily recall where in the world you took the shot and precisely when. It makes it so much easier when you’re scanning through your pictures and videos to record and keep track of them, helping you keep an accurate record of your shots.
Improved grip and controls feels natural in the hand, so you’ll be quick with your hand when capturing those moments. Weatherproofing makes this Canon DSLR resilient against the elements, ideal for outdoor shoots. The Canon 1DX Mark II is the ideal field camera that will take you anywhere.

When shooting sporting and wildlife moments, use the back button focus and AF servo to make your shutter release faster and your focus more accurate. Use Live View for focussing in extreme low-light for better accuracy. Continuous AF in video is fantastic for capturing events where you can’t control the action.
The CFast card reader/writer allows large buffering and video files. But you’ll need more memory cards if you’re shooting lots of video. The SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB CFast 2.0 Memory Card 515MB/s is super quick and reliable.
It’s important to have backups in case your battery dies, so you can shoot with peace of mind knowing you're covered for every situation. Your LPE19 battery will last a while, but you will need extras at some point, so it’s good to be prepared.
While shooting with natural light is beautiful, there are always times when a flash certainly comes in handy. The Canon Speedlite 600EX II RT is a well-crafted flash that’s reliable and can be used off camera with the Canon STE3RT.
