Unbox your imagination with the remarkable Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L USM Fisheye Lens. With a diagonal angle of view of up to 180°, the Canon 8-15mm f/4L fisheye lens can capture not just what’s in front of the camera, but also what’s above, below and to either side. The result is eye-openingly wide, dramatically distorted images with endless creative possibilities for all kinds of photography – from underwater to astro.
The world’s first true fisheye zoom lens, the Canon 8-15mm f/4L fisheye lens is highly specialised yet versatile. Zoom all the way in to capture a frame-filling rectangular image or zoom all the way out to create unique circular (on full frame cameras) or ultra-wide (on cropped sensor cameras) photos. A zoom limiter function restricts your focal range when you need it to.
Optimum clarity, sharpness and contrast are guaranteed in the Canon 8-15mm fisheye lens thanks to UD and aspherical lens elements and Canon’s patented SWC (subwavelength coating), which effectively controls ghosting and flare. A constant maximum aperture of f/4 keeps exposure consistent throughout the zoom range while a rounded aperture design delivers soft, pleasing bokeh.
Featuring a ring-type ultrasonic motor, the Canon 8-15mm fisheye lens autofocuses extremely fast and in virtual silence. Full-time manual focus override allows you to quickly switch to manual focusing even during AF mode.
Like all Canon L-Series lenses, the Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L fisheye lens meets the highest standards in quality and durability. It boasts superb dust and waterproofing properties, as well as fluorine coated front and rear lens surfaces for easy cleaning and maintenance.
With a built-in rear holder for gelatin filters, the Canon 8-15mm fisheye lens provides even more photographic possibilities.

When using a full frame camera, the Canon 8-15mm f/4L USM Fisheye Lens will at 8mm show a circular image—surrounded by black—within your camera’s rectangular frame. The more you zoom, the more that circle will enlarge until the image fills the entire frame (at 15mm).
On cropped sensor (APS-C or APS-H) cameras, the Canon 8-15mm fisheye lens will offer a more zoomed-in view (12.8-24mm equivalent). This will create an ultra-wide (with distortion aberration) perspective, rather than a circular image, when fully zoomed out and a full frame fisheye image when fully zoomed in.
The Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L USM fish eye lens features a rear filter holder for gelatin filters, which are available through third-party manufacturers.
Due to the highly rounded shape of the lens’ front element, flat front-mounted filters are not recommended for use with the Canon 8-15mm fish eye lens. Special curved filters may be available through third-party manufacturers.
